At about 3am this morning ...
Mary in the hall: "I have to go to the potty!"
Paul stumbling out of bed and into Mary's bathroom.
A minute later ...
Mary: "No, Daddy, that's not it."
Paul admitted to sitting Mary on the side of the tub to pee instead of on the toilet. He says it's a new house and he has to learn where everything is.
I say, he's closest to the bedroom door here. He can put her wherever he wants.

Merry Christmas to us.
We moved a week ago.
The plan was to pack up the house last weekend, close on our house on Monday, move it all in that night and have everything set up before we left town on Christmas Eve.
Except it went like this.
We packed up our stuff last weekend. Reserved a moving truck and transferred all of our utilities. We were all lined up for closing at 2:00pm on Monday.
Paul called at 11:00am Monday morning and said he had to be in Boston that night.
Really?
Yes.
He couldn't get back until Wednesday night.
Closing went beautifully. We showed up with a big fat check, signed a million papers and walked away with the keys to our house and Paul headed straight to the airport.
My brother, Cory, won't say no to a challenge and pulled off a smooth move that night. Everything made it out of our old place and into our house. Perfect.
Except we have no gas. No heat. No hot water. No oven. No stove.
The previous owners told us that all of the utilities were scheduled to be turned off on the 23rd, so I had them all scheduled to be transferred on the 21st and 22nd. Too bad they had already shut the gas off.
Too bad Atlanta Gas and Light can't come until next Tuesday to turn it back on. They say "it's a busy time of year" and "plenty of people are in your same situation," but that doesn't make my house any warmer.
With the help of some space heaters (eight, to be exact), and the hot water at our townhouse (for showers), we are cruising right through the week (is it Tuesday yet?)
On the bright side, this freezing cold house is OURS. We found a house that we love ... we bought it ... and we moved in. We are in love with this place.

It is true that we are buying a house.
It is true that we are packing, moving, and unpacking the week of Christmas.
We have awesome timing.

One more.
This is my last birthday post. I swear.
Until next year.
Until next year.
Paul's birthday is a week after Mary's, so we get a little week of celebration in November.
Paul wanted to go back to the zoo for his day (our season passes and some gorgeous fall weather make the zoo our favorite place on a pretty day). Once you get past the smell of the flamingos and the elephants right at entrance, it's really quite nice.

We spent the rest of Paul's birthday weekend at home and it couldn't have been nicer. Mary even let Paul wear her big, pink, "It's My Birthday" ribbon. It was a good day.
We sure love this guy.

Birthday at the Zoo
Birthday Girl
Mary turned 3 last month!
Paul's family always does breakfast in bed on your birthday, so he was up early making breakfast for the birthday girl. She was pretty thrilled to wake up to breakfast and hot chocolate in bed. I lucked out and got breakfast brought to me too, but I'll skip the pictures of me in all my morning beauty. It wasn't my birthday.
Here's to being three years old, and having an awesome Daddy.
