It's a ....

BOY!

It's taking a while to get used to the idea of having a little boy, but we are definitely happy. Everything looked awesome at the ultrasound this morning, and we loved getting a look at this little guy moving around in there. It is so amazing how fast these babies grow and how perfect they look after only 20 weeks. I could have watched the ultrasound all day if the technician would have let me. I wasn't a bit disappointed when she said I would need to come back for a follow up ultrasound in two months. Keep em coming!

I now have the next 20 weeks to get used to the idea of trains, trucks, dinosaurs, and all things boy.

Halloween x 3

We got three doses of Halloween this year. We did a church party here, a church party in Athens, and then Halloween day at Paul's parents in Ringgold. Is there such a thing as too much Halloween?
I think there is.

Uncle Cory and Mary

"NO pictures in the car!"

How do you react when your nursery teacher is dressed up like Maleficent?

Party in Athens
These little bugs were SO excited to see each other. Love these girls!

Seriously fun seeing everybody from Athens.
(thanks to Nancy P for the pictures)

Halloween Day in Ringgold.
The yearly front porch picture with all the cousins.

After about 7 houses we wrapped up the night with one grouchy ladybug.
A horrible picture of me ... but Mary's face it pretty hilarious.
Definitely grouchy, but still so sweet.
I love these guys.

Ladybug Faces

An attempt at getting a good shot of Mary in her ladybug costume.

"Ready, SMILE!"

"Okay, how about a happy smile."

"... let's try a silly face"

"Mommy, can I just be sad?"
Go for it.

She's got a cute smile. Not that you would ever know from pictures ... but I swear she does.

Pumpkin Family

We carved our pumpkins a little too early this year. By Halloween, they were rotting on the inside. It probably didn't help that it rained and rained and rained and rained, but these puppies found themselves in the dumpster by October 30th. Nothing like a good welcome home from bunch of rotten pumpkins on the porch.
It's a little hard to tell, but Paul's pumpkin is supposed to be the witch from Snow White on the cover of the movie. The drawing looked pretty sweet, but I think it's hard to carve that much detail with a steak knife (we'll be sure to grab a carving kit next year).

Once the rotting set in and the slugs showed up in the eyeballs, the thing was plenty scary, whether you could tell it was the wicked witch or not.

Uncle Bob's Pumpkin Patch

We went to Uncle Bob's Pumpkin Patch with friends from church last weekend. There wasn't so much pumpkin patching since the fields were rotting from the rain, it was more of a pumpkin pile, but the farm was rockin and we had a ton of fun.

To sum up the day, it was freezing outside, it took Mary 45 minutes to warm up to the animals in the petting zoo and it took us at least 45 minutes to finish the corn maze since we let Mary direct us through the thing.

{Some pics from the patch}

Petting Zoo 1,

(she's not going to touch the sheep)
and 3.
(pigmy goats aren't so bad).

We wrapped up the night with burgers and bottomless fries at Red Robin, then we had this sweet idea to get milkshakes from chickfila for dessert. We were absolutely sick. People commented at church the next day that I was starting to show ... sadly, they were only noticing the 4000 calories of food I had eaten the night before. Bleh.

Photography Skills

Mary's got a new talent. She takes pictures.

She knows where we keep the camera, and she knows how to turn it on. She knows how to point and shoot and then return the camera to it's drawer.

Uploading pictures is always a surprise.

Sweet Goodness

Tyler and Wendy came to town two weeks ago. We love these people. They just so happen to be the masterminds behind Blue Lily Photography and they graced Atlanta with their talent. We are lucky people.

We met for a photo shoot in Piedmont Park. Wendy was taking pictures and Tyler also had a camera. I asked Tyler 27 times what he was doing. He never gave me a serious answer.

Paul told me that Tyler was shooting a video. I didn't think that was a serious answer either. You would believe me if you spent 2 minutes with Tyler and Paul.

I guess I shouldn't have been surprised when Paul sent me the link to this video, but I was.

These people are so talented, it's ridiculous. I love them. I love their work. I want to kiss them both.
